LHoFT Launches 2025 Edition of Catapult: Green Fintech to Accelerate Sustainable Innovation

LHoFT I 9:30 am, 14th April

The Luxembourg House of Financial Technology (LHoFT) Foundation is proud to announce the second edition of Catapult: Green Fintech, its flagship acceleration program designed to propel fintech startups advancing sustainable finance technologies. Following the success of last year’s inaugural edition, the 2025 program deepens Luxembourg’s commitment to climate-aligned innovation and financial sector transformation.

Catapult: Green Fintech is again made possible with the support of the Ministry of Finance and in close collaboration with the Luxembourg Sustainable Finance Initiative (LSFI). Ten cutting-edge fintech startups will be selected from across the world for their pioneering work in areas such as Green Finance & Risk Management, Environment Measurement, Sustainable Finance Regulation, and Green Finance & ESG Data Collection/Management. These firms will participate in an intensive week-long bootcamp in Luxembourg during September 2025.

Nasir Zubairi, CEO of the LHoFT, shared: “We’re thrilled to bring back Catapult: Green Fintech for a second year. The momentum we’re seeing in sustainable innovation is inspiring, and it’s clear that fintech has a crucial role to play in the global transition. This program is about bringing great minds together to challenge the status quo and spark real change.”

During the program, the selected startups will gain direct access to leading investors, policymakers, and experts from Luxembourg’s sustainable finance ecosystem. Participants will also join the LSFI’s 2025 Sustainable Finance Summit, with tailored sessions exploring private capital mobilisation, stewardship, biodiversity, and human rights in finance. Additional activities include hands-on workshops, expert talks, pitching rounds, and individual mentoring, offering founders an immersive and transformative experience.

The winner and standout alumni of the inaugural 2024  is Connect Earth, led by CEO Alex Lempka. Alex shared his experience:

“The Catapult Green Fintech program enabled us to not only learn more about the strategic benefits of the Luxembourg finance ecosystem, but also how Luxembourg is a global leader in Sustainable Finance. The program gave us exposure to all the important bodies and organisations that we need to know about in order for us to understand how Luxembourg can support our business expansion. I highly recommend the program.”

Why Luxembourg?

As the Eurozone’s leading financial centre and a global pioneer in sustainable finance, Luxembourg provides a powerful springboard for green fintech innovation. The country continues to invest in climate-aligned financial instruments such as green bonds, blended finance vehicles, and ESG-labeled investment funds. Its progressive regulatory environment, coupled with cutting-edge infrastructure, including the world’s first platform for green securities, positions Luxembourg as an ideal launchpad for next-generation green fintech solutions.

The 2025 Program

Taking place from September 15–19, 2025, the program welcomes ten promising fintech startups with demonstrable product-market fit and early commercial traction. Participating firms are expected from France, Germany, Luxembourg, The Netherlands, Sweden, Switzerland, and the United Kingdom.

Throughout the week, participants will take part in sessions led by industry leaders and subject-matter experts from Luxembourg’s sustainable finance ecosystem. The program will culminate in a pitch event, where startups will present their solutions to a jury of investors and sustainability professionals, opening doors to investment and partnership opportunities.

Following the bootcamp, participating startups will continue to share performance data over three years, enabling the LHoFT and its partners to assess long-term impact and amplify success stories.

Lorenzo Avico, Deputy-CEO of the LSFI, commented: “As we look to accelerate the sustainable finance transition, fintech plays a critical role in offering innovative solutions to mobilise capital, meet regulatory requirements, assess risks, and measure impact. In this regard, partnering with the LHoFT fintech ecosystem is a core component of the LSFI Luxembourg Sustainable Finance Strategy 2030. The Catapult Green FinTech programme, which we are proud to co-facilitate, is a key initiative aimed at equipping start-ups with the tools, networks, and guidance they need to scale impactful solutions — while supporting the Luxembourg financial center's transition toward sustainability.”
