Le volume de données mobiles consommé croît considérablement d’année en année, au Luxembourg comme à travers le monde. D’ici 2025, on estime à 175 zettabytes la quantité de données générées à travers le monde (contre 33 en 2018). C’est un volume d’information absolument colossal, correspondant à 175 milliards de clés USB d’un gigabyte. Beaucoup de ces données sont désormais échangées via le réseau mobile, des terminaux connectés que sont nos smartphones, ou encore des capteurs vers des centres de données ou des plateformes cloud.

5G networks in Luxembourg are taking off and expanding
rapidly across the country. The general public take-up is growing quickly, and
most new smartphones are 5G-capable, so why is the take-up in the business
sector relatively poor? That’s what the Luxembourg Institute of Science and
Technology (LIST) and Telindus, a brand of Proximus Luxembourg, in a new
collaborative agreement plan to tackle together promoting and stimulating the
development of new 5G-based services for B2B.
The agreement was signed live on-stage during LIST’s
Tech Day event on Wednesday 15 June.
5G-Safe-Plus: technologies for road safety

OQ Technology Secures 5G Frequency Test License and Establishes the First European LEO Satellite 5G Lab in Luxembourg

OQ Technology has been granted an experimental license for accessing critical satellite 5G frequencies in Luxembourg. The company applied last year for using part of the terrestrial and satellite spectrum foreseen to be used for complementary satellite and mobile 5G services to accelerate go-to market, to test and improve its commercial product portfolio of 5G IoT user devices, and optimize its cell-tower 5G software stack aboard the satellite payload.
